Great news! Shakira has been nominated for an amazing 13 awards at this year's Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the year, Latin Album of the year for "Sale el Sol" and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the year, female.

The ceremony will air live on April 28 from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami on the Telemundo network and in more than 35 countries around the world. For the full list of nominations, click here.

Here's some great news to start the week - last night, Shakira won the Best Latin Music Artist award at this year's American Music Awards. Of course, she could never have done so unless you guys had voted for her. You rock. Thank you.

In recognition of her continuing dedication to improve access to education for all children around the world, Shakira was named as the 2010 Free Your Mind recipient at last night's EMA Awards in Madrid, Spain (she also opened the show, with an amazing performance of Loca and Waka Waka).

The Sun Comes Out World Tour opened in Montreal, Canada this past week and while I was hoping for a live performance of Men in this Town, the set list for the tour is phenomenal. A bunch of the classic Shakira tunes as well as some fun covers. I personally am beyond thrilled that she picked Despedida for this tour. It's by far my favorite of her ballads.
